Regent Phu Quoc, Vietnam
Regent Phu Quoc hosted an edition of the Spanish Pantry Festival conceived as a dialogue between Spanish gastronomy and Vietnam’s culinary identity. Located on the island’s western coast, the resort provided a contemporary ultra-luxury hospitality setting in which to present the project to an international audience.
One of the programme’s central moments took place at Oku, the hotel’s Japanese-French restaurant, with a six-hands dinner held on 12 June. The dinner brought together Javier Olleros, from Culler de Pau in Galicia; Benito Gómez, from Bardal in Ronda; and Andy Huynh, chef of Oku, in an encounter that connected territories, techniques and local ingredients.
The agenda also included “Amor y Sabor: The Art of Tapas”, an experience led by Ager Urigüen at Ocean Club, Regent Phu Quoc’s beachfront restaurant, featuring Ibérico ham, cheeses, tapas and Spanish wines.
The collaboration with the Regent team made it possible to place Spanish cuisine within a first-class hotel experience and reinforce Phu Quoc’s positioning as an emerging gastronomic destination in Asia.
At the Spanish Pantry Festival, Michelin-Starred Chefs and Vietnamese Heritage Come Together
