Formerly developed as Stravaganza
Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai and Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi
In November 2017 and 2018, Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai and Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi hosted Stravaganza, the earlier format from which the Spanish Pantry Festival would later evolve.
Developed with ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, the project introduced Spanish gastronomy, wines and food products to importers, distributors, sommeliers, hospitality professionals and gastronomic influencers in both cities.
The programme included Spanish wine seminars, an exhibition area with 25 Spanish food companies, paired lunches for 60 companies and importers, guided pairings led by local sommeliers Magandeep Singh and Gagan Sharma, and sommelier and maître d’ services throughout the week in both hotels’ restaurants.
The collaboration with both Taj properties placed Spanish gastronomy within two of India’s most iconic hospitality settings and helped shape the international hotel-based model that the Spanish Pantry Festival continues to develop today.
